The County got off to another good start with a 25-14 win against Cleveland. Our Ladies "B" got us off to another great flyer and put themselves on top of their league with another 5-1 win. Mandy Lewis was the Lady of the Match with a fine 16.61 average. Our Mens 'B' drew and really should have won . Poor finishing was their trouble but Robert Coverdale again showed his class and took the Man of the Match award with a 24.95 average. After these two results we didn't look like losing again and went into the Sunday games with a 4 point lead.
Our Ladies 'A' still haven't clicked yet but still managed a fighting draw with Julie Gore just doing enough to keep her on top with a 19.27 average. The Mens 'A' had a 4 point advantage going into the final stages and they never looked like they were going to lose it. Jamie Lewis was on terrific form and took the honours for the Man of the Match Award with a fantastic 29.47 average on the very last game to win the match 8-4. Robert Hughes got off to a slow start but soon warmed up and got back to something like his best with an over 27 average.
The overall League position is now in second place behind Humberside by 3 points and 4 points ahead of 3rd place Wiltshire. We've got to play Humberside AWAY next game and this is one that we really need all the support you can give us. Our Mens 'A' are in second place in their group, Womens 'A' are in 8th place, Mens 'B' are in 6th place and Womens 'B' are in top position.
