The next Super League Games are on the 12th January and all players are welcome. Those who haven't tried Super League yet are invited to attend and see if you can get into your local league team. The games are held at the County Venue which is the Whitland Creameries Club in Whitland. Quite a few of the Players do not play for the County and it is hoped that some of them might give it a try especially the Men but we are in need of a few good Ladies as well.

Have a good Christmas and lets hope the New year will bring the County some more good Players.

December 3rd 2013.

Once again I have to remind you all that unless we get some more sponsorship, the GOLD CUP will not be run in Pembrokeshire this Season. There are a few of us that are trying desperately to get some sponsorship but I know it is very hard. Perhaps you could try to get smaller amounts instead of looking for a big donation. The Man and Lady of the Match Trophies would need approx.300.00. The Gold Cup would be looking at approx. 400.00 and the other Tournaments such as the Welsh Individual and the Winmau would be looking at approx. 2-300 each. At the moment, the only Sponsorship money coming in is the Main Sponsors who are the Venue and with the economic times like they are, they cannot help us any more than they are doing. We get approx 1800-2000 from them at the moment. We are also getting our Stage Water Free from Alderwicks in Haverfordwest so every little bit helps. Help us to keep Founder Members Pembrokeshire in the British Inter-Counties.

SUNDAY JUNE 16TH 2013.

IT IS WITH DEEP REGRET THAT I HAVE TO ANNOUNCE THE DEATH OF ONE OF OUR PAST CHAIRMEN. I AM TALKING ABOUT GERAINT JONES FROM CRYMYCH WHO WAS OUR CHAIRMAN FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND A VERY GREAT FRIEND OF MINE. HE HELPED TO STEER US THROUGH SOME OF OUR MOST DIFFICULT TIMES IN THE 80'S AND HE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN KEEPING THE COUNTY GOING IN THOSE VERY HARD EARLY YEARS. HE, AND HIS GOOD LADY MARIE, LIVED AT THE CRYMYCH ARMS AND WE HELD MANY OF OUR TOURNAMENTS THERE. HE TRAVELLED TO ALL OF THE BDO MEETINGS, ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. HE THEN MOVED TO CARDIFF AND SADLY WE LOST CONTACT BUT THEN HE CONTRACTED THAT DEADLY CANCER AND HE WAS LAID TO REST YESTERDAY, JUNE 15TH IN CRYMYCH.  CARDS WERE SENT FROM MYSELF AND PEMBROKESHIRE AND I HOPE A DONATION WILL BE SENT FOR HIS WISHES TO WARD 10 AT WITHYBUSH. GOD BLESS YOU GERAINT. MAY YOU REST IN ETERNAL PEACE. OUR SINCERE CONDOLENCES GO TO MARIE AND VERONICA AND FAMILY.

Surprise Surprise. There's news again on our webpage. My apologies for the relapse but I found it very hard to get the Inter-County games off the Darts for Windows and so, couldn't do a report. I hope to have all that ready for the next season which unfortunately will see us remain in Division Four. It's not the end of the world and apart from two disasterous results last season, we would have definately gone straight back up as Champions. You've all paid your part in both helping us and hindering us. The hindering part comes with players going to try their luck with the PDC and those Players who decide at the last moment to have a rest. We all need a rest and I hope that those of you who are still interested in the County will make a welcome return next season.

Our last County game of the Season was against the league Champions Clwyd and we played brilliantly to win overall 19-17. In the Saturday Games our Ladies 'B' didn't fulfil their potential and lost 2-4 withEnfys Hill getting the Lady of the Match Award with a fine 15.42 average. Leslie Phillips was the other winner with a 14.96 average`. Our Mens 'B' were very unlucky not to win 10-2 due to some poor finishing but they still managed to win 7-5 with young Welsh prospect Ben Cloake winning with a tremendous average of 28.06. Only one Player bettered that and it took a Welsh International Jonny Clayton to do it. Other winners were Craig Pope 26.84,Peter John 24.24, Ian Hopkins 23.12, Gavin James 21.26, Steve Castle 20.82 and Kendal Jones 19.03.  Young Dan Castle nearly took another scalp and just lost 2-3 with a 20.34.  Saturday finished at 9-9 and it was all to play for on the Sunday.

Our Ladies have been playing well and I had hoped they would continue to do so but those elusive doubles cost us dear and we lost 2-4 with Julie Gore, again being the Lady of the Match with a superb 26.37 average closely followed by our other Welsh International Rhian Griffiths getting another superb average of 23.86. Hayley Francis Owens was unlucky to lose 203 with a 17.16 averageLiz Williams and Mandy Lewis both lost 2-3 and an out of sorts Sue Phillips lost 1-3.

Our Mens 'A' certainly pulled out all the stops because we were now 11-13 down and what a fight they put up. It could have actually been a clean sweep but we had to settle for 8-4 to give us a well earned win. Man of the Match was Jonny Clayton with a 3-0 win and a great 30.06 average. Other winners wereAled Davies  3-1 and a 27.23 average. Paul Emmanuel won 3-2 with 26.18, Paul Morgans won 3-0 with a 25.91 average, Luke Jones won 3-1 and had a 24.10 average, James Bevan won 3-2 with a 23.29, Rob Coverdale won 3-0 with a 23.12, Richard Jupp won 3-0 with a 22.43. Our unlucky losers were Kelvin Hughes 23.97, Clive Lewis 23.47, Stewart Pople 21.5 and Darren Owens 21.25. Overall a very good win by the West Wales Pembrokeshire Players.

On Sunday May 12th the Gold Cup was played and the eventual winners were Ladies Singles Julie Gore who beat Hayley Francis Owens in an excellent final. The mens winner was Jonny Clayton who beat Luke Jones in another excellent final. In the Ladies Pairs it was Julie Gore and Rhian Griffiths who beat sisters Sue Phillips and Maggie. For the Men it was James and Stewart who beat Mushy and Kendal in a thrilling final.

 . Updated SEPTEMBER 17th 2012

All Players are reminded that our SECOND game in the 2012-13 season is AWAY to BRECON and everyone is making their own way there. Everyone must be there for 11.00 a.m. on the Saturday and no later than 10.00 a.m. on the Sunday. Don't ring Tracey and say you'll be late because that won't wash this season. We've got a lot stronger squad this year and this will mean that we can be more selective so if you want to play for West Wales (Pembrokeshire) then you'd better be on time. Please make an extra effort this season. You will have noticed that right up until January, our travelling has been very little.
